Step #1

For starters you are going to need the iPad usb cable and Spirit jailbreak software to get the process underway. The first thing you should do is back up your ipad through itunes. This ensures that all critical data you have on the ipad is going to be preserved, and in the event you ever want to reset the ipad to factory condition, you are going to have all of the files in one place, and they will be safe on your itunes account on your computer.

The next thing you are going to do when jailbreaking your ipad is to install the software for the Spirit jailbreak system.
